What was it about?
Prabhaav explored the different dimensions of learning in a rural setting. Carefully designed experiences ensured the participants wholeheartedly immerse into field visits, discussions, activities, and reflection. Holistically understanding different concepts of Empathy, Community Crafts and Cultures formed the crux of the program.
Overall, Prabhaav was designed as an experience that challenges known boundaries of understanding and known belief systems. Post the program, the participants shared their own experiences and processing of the whole program. The idea was to create the impact within these designers, such that a sense of belonging is created to indigenous communities, paving way for a deep impact within. When this impact is enabled, social change is possible. It is with this idea in mind that we have conceptualized and executed Prabhaav.
Where?
Prabhaav found its bearing in the beautiful temple town of Banavasi, nestled in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. Home to many arts and crafts like those of the pith coronet making by the Gudigar community, banana fibre products, Chittara art and much more, Banavasi is a cultural epicentre of several indigenous arts and crafts. In collaboration with Sustainable World Outdoor Tourism and Janastu, this week-long learning journey began in Banavasi and ended in Devrayanadurga.
